General materials and recommendations to all exercises

  • Basic knowledge of SIMULINK is required. Here are couple of introductory materials in English: this tutorial, chapter 2 of this one, or if you prefer a very basic video. Also in German language is this one.
  • The ability to model an ordinary differential equation from basic blocks, such as: integrators, summation blocks, gains, etc. Information how to do it can be found in the previous links but also here.
  • Get familiar with anti-windup control. You have to figure it out what kind of schemes there are and what is an anti-windup control scheme.
  • Pay attention to the place() command in MATLAB. You will find information in the material to the exercise and refer also to the MATLAB help.
  • Refresh your knowledge about: Bode diagrams, loop shaping, and the derivation of transfer functions for any two signals on a control block diagram. Refer to your materials from Regelungstechnik 1.
  • Every member of the group should be prepared to answer the questions from the lecturer!
